Anolis at Designblok 10
Thanks to this year’s Designblok‘s co-operation with Anolis the atrium behind the central stair case of Bubenska (previously the headquarters of the Prague Public Transport Company) has been transformed by delicate shades of colour which brings delight to the visitors inside the building and draws attention to the exterior.
The 12th annual event of Days of design in Prague Designblok´10 is this year being held in an incredibly stylish studio. Bubenska, previously the headquarters of the Prague Public Transport Company came into existence in the 1920s and 1930s thanks to architects Adolf Benes and Josef Kriz. Due to its unusual and unique design it was decided to open it to the public in 1935.
Three quarters of a century later, it was the Anolis lighting that brought the building back to life and it is being used as the main residency of this years Designblock. Apart from a wide variety of attendees from home and abroad, this years Designblok prides itself on a partnership with this homegrown architectural lighting company . Even though the highly ambitious Anolis was founded and resides in the Czech Reoublic, the company only recently started discovering Czech architectural gems. Due to their quality, the Anolis products are highly sought after by architects worldwide and they have been seen in a wide variety of high profile installations around the globe .
Thanks to this year’s Designblok‘s co-operation with Anolis the atrium behind the central stair case has been transformed by delicate shades of colour which brings delight to the visitors inside the building and draws attention to the exterior. Two unique luxfer prism glass ceilings, one in the main building and the other in the north section (so called “listkarna”), have also come to life with colour. Furthermore, Anolis lighting have transformed the look of the old cash desks previously used to buy tickets for public transport. Without saying any more, we can assure all visitors to the studio that after their visit they will understand the importance of light design in architecture.
